PTU Sponsored Faculty Development Programme “Current Research Methodology for Herbal Drug Studies” Feb, 8th to 12th, 2012
 

   Five days PTU, Jalandhar, sponsored “Faculty Development Programme” (FDP) entitled as “Current Research Methodology for Herbal Drug Studies” was organized by Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Pharmacy, Patti. Young teachers from different PTU and non PTU affiliated pharmacy colleges like Govt. Polytechnic College Amritsar, VMS College of Pharmacy, Batala, SIPER, Amritsar, Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Amritsar, LLR College and ISF COP, Moga attended the programme. Eminent resource persons from industry and academia like Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi, KCIPS & R, HP, MDU Rohtak, Haryana, GNDU, Amritsar, PU, Chandigarh enlightened the participants on various topics related to the theme. The function was inaugurated by lightening the candle by Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu, Dean Academics, PTU Jalandhar. Dr. Satish Verma, Director Academics, GNDU, Amritsar was the guest of honour. The programme was concluded by feedback from teachers. Dr. Nacahhattar Singh, Advisor to Vice Chancellor, PTU Jalandhar was chief guest and Prof. (Dr.) S. H. Ansari, DSW, Ex. Dean and Head of Department, Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi was guest of honour on concluding ceremony. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Hayat M. Mukhtar, Principal, S. B. S College of Pharmacy. Sh. Ram Iqbal Sharma, Chairman, S. B. S Group of Institutions presided over the function. The programme was appreciated by Mr. Rajesh Bhardwaj, Managing Director, and Mrs. Mridula Bhardwaj, Executive Director, S. B. S Group of Institutions.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

AICTE sponsored 2nd National Staff development programme 2009:

   AICTE sponsored 2nd National staff development programme on “Herbal Drug Analysis” was organized by Shaheed Bhagat Singh Polytechnic & Pharmacy College, Patti, in the year 2009. The programme was focused on recent technological advances in the field of herbal drug analysis. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. N.P. Singh, Dean Academics and Examination, PTU, Jalandhar who highly appreciated the institute for organizing such a unique programme for the faculty development. Sh. Rajesh Bhardwaj, Managing Director, SBS group of institutions, graced the occasion and hoped that programme will prove successful in updating the teaching skills of Pharmacy teachers. Dr. S.H. Ansari, Dean Jamia Hamdard University along with other resource persons from various disciplines of pharmacy like Dr. Rakesh Morya, CDRI Lucknow, Dr. T. Sen, Yadavpur University  Kolkata, Dr. Puneet Gupta, Senior oncologist, Apollo Hospital Delhi and Dr. P.K. Tiwari, NIPER Chandigarh gave valuable insight on various techniques and advancements in the field of herbal drug analysis .

 

 

 

 

 

 



National Level Staff development programme 2006:

    Institute organized a two weeks National Level AICTE Sponsored Staff Development Programme on “Challenges and Techniques Involved in Standardization of Herbal Drugs” for pharmacy teachers from 16th December to 29th December 2006. The programme was intended to provide in-depth teaching and learning strategies. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Brahma Singh, OSD (Horticulture), Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi, who complimented the institute for organizing such a unique programme for the benefit of faculty. Mr. Rajesh Bhardwaj, MD of the institute graced the occasion and urged the participants to make full use of the resources. Dr. Hayat M Mukhtar, Principal and Coordinator of the programme presided over the function and informed the participants and delegates about the need of such programmes.

   Intensive practical and theoretical sessions were conducted to insight into the objectives of education and various strategies of teaching and learning process. Prof. (Dr.) S. H Ansari, HOD, Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry, Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi along with other resource persons from various disciplines of Pharmacy like Dr. A N Kalia, Ex. Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, MDU Rohtak, Dr. P Gupta, Senior Consultant, Medical Oncology, Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, Dr. NN Mahadevan, Dr. SS Ganti, Dr. M Ali, Dr. F Jalees, Dr. Sayeed Ahmed presented their valuable lectures. The resource persons spoke on various techniques and recent trends in standardization of herbal drugs. The programme was concluded with feed back and views from the participants and felicitations to the resource persons. Dr. V. K. Arora, Registrar, PTU, Jalandhar was the Chief Guest on the concluding day. In his address he emphasized on the need of research based programmes to be conducted. The other dignitaries included Sh. Ram Iqbal Sharma, Mr. Rajesh Bhardwaj and Mrs. Mridula Bhardwaj, Chairman, Managing Director and Exec. Director of SBS Group of Educational Institutes, respectively.

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

DBT & PTU Sponsored 4th National Seminar "Biotechnology & Pharma Industry”, January, 28th - 29th, 2012

The programme was focused on recent scenario on Biotechnology and Pharma Industry. The programme was inaugurated by chief guest, Dr. Syed Akhtar Hussain, HOD of Biotechnology, Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi who highly appreatiated the institute for organizing such a programme. More than 100 delegates from Punjab, UP, HP, J&K, Rajasthan, Delhi & Haryana participated in the seminar. Dr. Sayeed   Ahmed, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, Dr. A. N Kalia, Director, Herbal Drug Research, ISF college of Pharmacy, Dr. Syed Akhtar Hussain HOD of Biotechnology, Jamia Milia Islamia New Delhi, Dr. R S R Murthy, Director (Academic) ISF college of Pharmacy, Dr. N. K. Jain DBT, Govt. of India, gave valuable insight on various techniques and advancements in the field of Biotechnology & Plant Tissue Culture. Dr. Hayat M. Mukhtar, Principal & Convenior coordinated the programme. Chairman Sh. Ram Iqbal Shrama, said that such programme provide insight into the objectives of education. In this address, Sh. Rajesh Bhardwaj, Managing Director, SBS group of institutions, proposed a note of thanks. AICTE Sponsored national  seminar “Drug Discovery Techniques and Challenges” DDTC 2009:

   AICTE sponsored 2nd National Seminar on “Drug Discovery Techniques and Challenges” was organized by Shaheed Bhagat Singh Polytechnic & Pharmacy College, Patti, from 13th-15th November, 2009. The programme was focused on recent technological advances in the field of Drug Discovery. The programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Parneet Kaur w/o Cabinet Minister Mr. Adaish Partap Singh Kairon who highly appreciated the institute for organizing such a unique programme organized by AICTE, New Delhi. As many as 50 delegates from Punjab, UP, J&K, Delhi and Haryana participated in this seminar. Dr. S.H. Ansari, Dean & Head, Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi along with other resource persons from various disciplines of pharmacy like Dr. Vimal Kumar, Nirma University, Gujrat, Dr. K. A. Suri, IIIM Jammu, Dr. Vimla Devi, C.E.O. Aero Pharma Pondicherry, Dr. Pulok Mukherjee, Director, School of Natural Products, Jadavpur University, Kolkata and Dr. Rakesh Morya, CDRI Lucknow, gave valuable insight on various techniques and advancements in the field of Drug Discovery. Dr. Hayat M. Mukhtar, Principal and coordinator of programme introduced the resource persons of the programme as well as topics for plenary lectures. Mrs. Parneet Kaur highly appreciated the institute for organizing such a unique programme in this remote area. Exec. Managing Director, Mrs. Mridula Bharadwaj said that such programmes provide insight into the objectives of education and role of new techniques for Drug Discovery. Managing Director, Sh. National Level Seminar at  SBS College of Pharmacy, Patti 2006:

    A three-day National level Seminar titled as “Latest Trends in Herbal Medicine” sponsored by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi was organized by Shaheed Bhagat Singh Polytechnic & Pharmacy College, Patti from 30th June to 2nd July 2006. Eminent scientists who delivered guest lectures included Prof S.H.Ansari, Prof. A.M. Ismail, Prof Santhamarai, Prof. R.K.Khar, Dr Anupam Sharma, and Dr. K.L. Bedi. Dr. Hayat M. Mukhtar, Principal Shaheed Bhagat Singh Polytechnic & Pharmacy College, coordinated the seminar. The inaugural ceremony was started by lightening the candle by the worthy Chairman, S.B.S. Group of Institutes, Sh. Ram Iqbal Sharma, Managing Director, Mr. Rajesh Bhardwaj, Executive Director, Mrs. Mridula Bhardwaj. More than fifty participants from different states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh J&K, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Delhi participated in the seminar.

Acharya, Dept. of Phytopharmaceuticals and Natural Product, Nirma University, gave valuable insight on various techniques and advancements in the field of Antidaibetic Plant Drugs. Dr. Hayat M. Mukhtar, Principal & Convenior coordinated the programme. Chairman Sh. Ram Iqbal Shrama presided over the function. In his address, Sh. Rajesh Bhardwaj, Managing Director, SBS group of institutions, appreciated the programme & thanked the resource persons.
